Uncompromising Excellence: The Pinnacle of Vinous Investment

The 2005 growing season across Burgundy was fabled before the first grape was picked – a year when propitious weather patterns aligned to foster conditions conducive to the creation of wines of extraordinary character. Domaine Leroy's parcels within Vosne les Beaux Monts benefitted immensely, with optimal ripening and health of Pinot Noir – the lifeblood of this storied region.

An Investment in Liquid History

The 2005 vintage from this premier cru vineyard exudes an elegance seldom paralleled. On opening, one is greeted by opulent aromas, lush with ripe cherries nuanced by earthy undertones and a subtle whisper of fine spice – likely courtesy of those well-draining limestone soils and the gentle hand with which Lalou Bize-Leroy tends her sacred vines. In taste, it emerges as muscular yet lithe in structure – tannins impeccably refined, bestowing a longevity that bodes exceedingly well for those wise enough to include this vintage in their vinous portfolio.

Indeed, the 2005 Vosne les Beaux Monts from Domaine Leroy is not simply a wine; it's a testament to an impeccable year and a legacy captured in bottle. As we ponder its placement amongst its brethren, it's clear that this offering is one shaped by the singularity of its season – a beacon for investors who pursue vintages with both historical significance and potential for appreciation.

Connoisseurship and Capital - A Harmonious Ensemble

For those fortune enough to lay hands upon it, the 2005 Vosne les Beaux Monts personifies judicious investment married deftly with sensory delight. As you consider adding this paragon to your collection, reflect upon this: investment in fine wines such as this transcends simple financial gain, it is an acquisition of cultural wealth, an artefact that embodies both the artistry of man and the grace of nature.

All of the Leroy 2005s boast deep, dark color, but I should note that the 2005 Vosne Romanee Les Beaux Monts sets a new standard among them for noir saturation, as it does also for sheer aromatic intensity, albeit with a familiar cast, including black cherry, tobacco, and lilies. Voluminous and luminous in the mouth, this exhibits a continuation of the Leroy alliance of liqueur-like and fresh fruit aspects, amazingly precocious and beguiling creaminess of texture, and deep meatiness, buried truffles, and soy-like savor. It may miss the mystery of a few of its predecessors, but like Leroy’s Santenots, this Beaux Monts is compellingly sweet, rich, seamless and pure. There is a sultry sense about it, but no real heat in the finish. Importer: Martine’s Wines. Novato, CA; tel. (415) 883-0400
