Individuality of 2007 vintage, a compelling complexity

Every sip offers an enticing allure: ripe berry notes mingle with nuanced spices all wrapped in an elegant velvet body. The longevity borne from this expertly managed weather uncertainty emphasises the wine’s appeal as a strong candidate for investment portfolios.

A wine forged by nature, nurtured by virtuoso producers

This particular vintage speaks volumes about meticulous viticulture and honed winemaking craft. Domaine M&S Ogier D'Ampuis, renowned for their mastery in creating Syrah wines of unrivalled quality, managed the challenging climate conditions to create a wine enraptured with rustic charm. The nuances of ageing have graced this excellent vintage.

Ripe fruits integrate seamlessly with hints of white pepper. A warm heat underpins the palatial experience as if echoing the hot, elongated growing period that the grapes underwent. Neither overstated nor understated, it's a blend that continues to resonate on the palate even after the final sip.

A 100% Syrah aged in 50% new French oak, the 2007 Cote Rotie Lancement Cote Blonde is a prodigious wine that flirts with perfection. It offers up notes of bacon fat, tapenade, sweet cassis and black raspberries, graphite and subtle barbecue smoke. Opulent, fleshy and rich, it is a total hedonistic and intellectual turn-on. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. One of France’s most brilliant small artisanal wineries is that of the Ogier family in Ampuis, situated about six blocks north of Guigal’s vast network of underground cellars. The value picks are the wines made from the steep hillsides north of the old Roman settlement of Vienne. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
